Why Assessment is neccessary?

Today athletes might be most athletic and technically trained ever, but without the Right mindset, an athlete can’t go too far.

But, it is also true, that it is very difficult to assess the mindset, because there are so many factors that affect it. Sometimes, its pressure, other times motivation, sometimes they are distracted and other times, it is confidence.

As performance plateaus, the player and the parents start getting worried about the future, and by the age of 16-18 years, unfortunately, most of the time, players finally stop playing competitively, getting back into academics.

“Research shows 70-90% of athletes get out of competitive sport by the age of 16-18 yrs”.

Thus, A Comprehensive Mindset Assessment is very critical to help parents, coaches and the player identify and understand, what are the mental and performance challenges, and create a plan to work on them.

Working for over 15 years in the field of Mental Coaching, I have realized that there are primarily 6 key Psychological and Mental Factors that affect performance:

Motivation

Confidence

Consistency

Pressure

Goals

Self Discipline

By understanding how much of these factors is creating a problem, a Parent can more easily give better support to the athlete at home before the problem becomes worse.

“The bond between the Parent and the Player is special and providing this insight will help Parents quickly address the mental challenges that the athlete is facing and can help the player get the player to start seeing more success.”
